Here is an inexpensive and easy way to add a little wall art to any room of your home. The vinyl stick on decals can simply be added to a painted surface in a few minutes and removed for a fresh new look. There are some really cool ideas for the children's rooms as well as the living room and kitchen. The vinyl wall art company will even ship worldwide for $3 and the most expensive one I saw was only $78 making for a modest addition.
I have a fondness for really well made things that do not get compromised for the sake of saving a few dollars. One maker comes to mind when considering an uncompromised piece of modern furniture. Alivar is focused on a purist and minimalist styling, and is highly attentive to innovation and research in design. A world renowned manufactures of the truly great classics, Alivar covers every aspect of the complete décor. If you seek functionality and simplicity their various collections are for you. The Alivar Museum is a 230 page ensemble of the licensed and very accurate reproductions of the great designers that made modern and contemporary furniture what it is today.

Here is something a little more from the dark side. Not to be overly gothic, I was simply fascinated by the unique aspect of H. R. Giger and his artistic creativity. These chairs may look a little like the set of Alien and that's because his work on the set and creatures won Giger an Oscar in 1980. Giger who first studied architecture and industrial design ventured into interior design in1966. I particularly like the Elegant Black Chair ($2250) for its more mainstream design as his collection can get very far out. Also shown is his Marbelized Harkonnen Chair that is more indicative of his specialized flair ($13,500). Galerie Morpheus International which specializes in works of the "fantastique" has many of Giger's production and wants to expand the awareness of quality contemporary furniture.
I know this bed is a stretch for the average décor, but for the lover of cutting edge design the Lipla Double Bed by Jean Marie Massaud is right at home. Called the Double Bed this queen is an upholstered structure in which the mattress is encircled by the frame and headboard. There is an optional wooden piece not shown, which stands behind the headboard and flush with the frame providing nightstands on both sides of the bed. The close fitting elastic fabric and smooth lines make for a clean, linear, and very modern design. Manufactured by Porro, Lipla can be personalized with a selection of various fabric colors and shiny or flat wood finishes for the bed and optional nightstands.
If you are like me, you are probably sitting at a computer that cost a fair amount of money. Chances are the chair you are sitting in is not as up to date as the computer. With so much riding on the line like comfort, health issues, and productivity the right chair would probably pay for itself in a matter of a few years. The Aeron chair from Hermann Miller is probably the perfect work chair for a multitude of reasons. The ergonomic design allows for correct posture in any position while various tilt and armrest features make the long days seem much smoother. Small things like a conforming and breathable mesh seat, which adjust to various heights, keep you cool for those extended work hours. This heavily researched chair is not only pressure releaving and comfortable, its contemporary style looks good too. I highly recommend sitting in this chair and being the judge for your self.
