When I think of a canopy bed I think of French antique furniture characterized by its ornate intricacies. Not so here. The Milo canopy bed from EQ3 is totally contemporary. I like the shape and look of these weave planters from Palecek Furniture. These are great planters that don't take up too much room since their design is tall rather than wide. This fits my design style as I like to conserve space and avoid too much clutter. Another consideration is that these pieces come from renewable plant sources. Palecek has been concerned about the environment for many years and actively participates in reforestation projects in the Philipines.

Most of the collection from Norwalk Furniture is more traditional by design. I find the Beckett chair and ottoman to be more transitional. The leather pattern closely resembles that of the famed Barcelona chair and the arms certainly take their influence from modernism. The ottoman is somewhat unique in its design giving the chair set a different overall look.

Copper countertops offer an alternative to more common designs such as granite or Corian. Many people accent their kitchen with copper pots and pans hanging from racks. A copper counter top can replace this look and yet still provide that rustic appeal. Proper care is important since metal can naturally tarnish and develop patinas.
