On my recent trip to the High Point furniture market I came across an old favorite and wanted to share their latest offering. Giovanni Erba furniture of Italy has been on the cutting edge of modern design in the leather furniture scene for 50 years, and is committed to creating styles that set trends but are not trendy. Shown here in stark white this sleek Italian beauty is as comfortable as it is attractive. Hosting down cushions, adjustable arm, ratcheting seat backs, and top grain leather, the $6000 price tag will easily be justified as soon as you take a seat.

There is nothing more cool than a really great looking modern Italian style and Bonaldo is definitely keeping up with the times. The Chat and Double Chat rectangle dining tables are perfect for the minimal modern décor especially when they are combined with the latest poly molded chairs. Designers Dondoli and Pocci included an anodized frame with a plate glass or Doluflex top to coordinate with a great selection of chairs also offered by Bonaldo. Included in the collection are some really nice sofas, accessories, and additional dining and table chair combinations.

There is noting worse than a bathtub with harsh angles, it just makes relaxing a hard thing to do. The Laguna Basic wooden bathtub is as smooth as the time you will spend relaxing in it. The rectangular surroundings of the Basic Tub allows it to be simply integrated into an existing space, and Laguna will help make anything possible. The surface of the tub is a very hard lustrous finish making cleaning very easy. Laguna has some other very impressive styles including free standing tubs.

If you are into the unusual, and prefer modern furniture then the floating Fluttua bed by designer Daniele Lago is a must see. The platform floats on a height adjustable center post and connects to the wall for a really cool minimal look. Fluttua is available in round or standard configuration with a recessed frame to give the appearance that the mattress is floating. Lago has many other stunning bed and storage designs all with a modern theme that only the Italians can do.

Of course Furniture Fashion is dedicated to reporting on the latest in design and interior innovation, but you also need a place to put these cool ideas. The Loftcube from designer Werner Aisslinger is a modern dwelling with a lot of living space for its size with plenty of windows. The 2007 tour of the Loftcube will be in two locations, Berlin and Milan with more locations in the future. The prefabricated concept allows for a more cost effective housing through the mass production. I like the modern lines and how well it uses all of the structure, wasting nothing. Studio Aisslinger is also well known for some really great contemporary furniture designs.
