I have to tell you that I am impressed with the home flame collection from radius design. I particularly enjoy the free floating effect created by the way the fireplace hangs from the wall. I am a big fan of the stainless model, but there also is a model in black which is pictured here. There is another design where the fireplace sits on the floor much like a narrow accent table.
The free standing operation is nice if you plan to retro-fit your home. Not everyone has access to a gas line where they want to add a fire place. I think this is an innovative approach to allow older properties to be updated with more contemporary design. This product burns bio-ethanol.

It's been a couple of years, I think, since we've seen anything really innovative in the way of fireplaces -- this definitely qualifies! Now, I just wonder if any more traditional designs are/become available, with the same flexible installation options and bio-ethanol technology, for those of us with older homes who want to preserve the period look. Good find!
