A few weeks ago Furniture Fashion showed our loyal readers a beautiful teak chaise lounge from Diamond Teak that would surely add some class to you patio or outdoor living area. Well here is another fine patio furniture offering from the masters of wood work that has a very unusual concept. Diamond Teak makes several benches available in various curvatures, lengths, and back rest designs perfect for all weather environments or interior atriums. The zig zag of the individual slats supports the benches front and back weight load making a very stable place to enjoy your self. As with the Chaise lounge, each piece of wood is spaced and tapered to give a very finished look, leaving few straight lines. Bench lengths range from 69" for $2990 to 100" for $4630, and depths 29" to 36" depending on curvature, with all seat heights a standard 18". There are also a series of backless models with similar sizes.

In the furniture business these days so much is being farmed out to overseas manufacturing, and of course corners get cut to save a dollar. American Leather is still made in the good old USA with quality leathers and a great selection of designs from traditional to contemporary. The Arclounge designed by Rick Lee is a very unique idea in a seating system that you can really get comfortable on. I especially like the symmetry of the two piece sofa and the large over sized ottomans that fit within the curvature creating a very large seating area and utilizing the entire space. Despite a large amount of growth American Leather can still do made to order sofas and sectionals in 2-3 weeks, producing each piece on at a time from top grain leathers only. In every product category there are those manufacturers that look at the price tag and ignore the numbers giving way to what may be the most incredible product, or simply the most expensive. Hastens has a serious passion for making the world's best line of mattresses using meticulous construction and all organic materials. Hastens combines horse hair, cotton, flax, and wool in multiple layers supported by an incredible, sometimes multi-layer spring system. The Vividus is a culmination of over 150 years of proven hand made techniques and only the finest materials resulting is a bed which lifts your body and provides support, while allowing you to sink deep down and relax. The Hastens collection ranges from 5 to 50 thousand dollars and the question, is a mattress worth that much money lays in the consumers hands. In a time when we spend so much time in traffic and stressing out at work we need to get the best rest possible. This is not a 5-8 year product like most of the standard inner spring mattresses , this is a 20 year plus product. I have spent some time on the 10-25 thousand range, and there is a definite sense of solid quality unlike anything I have ever experienced. The one thing I did foresee is the need to periodically fluff and reposition the matting that naturally flattens on the top layer, like you would do to a pillow. In most major cities there are specialty bedding shops displaying the Hastens line, and I encourage you to try them out for the sake of a good nights sleep. The line includes adjustable beds, in various sizes and degrees of firmness and a line of bedding accessories.

Check out this ultra modern sofa lounge series from Meritalia furniture of Italy. The name Air Lounge System fits so well as the "open air" back rest conjures visions of something you might see from the aero space industry. The possibilities of cold cured molded foam are wide open, especially when it is supported with a electro welded inner steel frame giving way to outstanding shapes and angles. The quality tailoring of the Air Lounge System is very difficult to accomplish thanks to it's unique shape and full upholstery. The colors can be mixed for a two tone effect, with the leather or fabric as options. The series includes a sofa, chair, and coffee table in various finishes.

I just got back from vacation in Santa Fe, New Mexico where a family member lives. This relative has a great home in Santa Fe. The property is on a side of a mountain at 7,400 feet elevation. This house has over ten acres of land with it so there are some other homes nearby, but not too close.
The first thing that comes to mind about homes in Santa Fe is the prevalence of the stucco / adobe look. There are very few traditional brick or wooden homes. The colors of the adobe vary from light tan to medium colored browns. The interesting thing is that the color spectrum is rather small. Thus, when you walk around the city of Santa Fe all the businesses and homes seem to blend together nicely. I am use to having some crazy neighbor that puts something out that distinguishes their home often to the chagrin of the other home owners.
