A great bathroom vanity direct from Spain by Sonia

sonia bathroom vanity.JPG

Looking for that edge in a bathroom vanity for a contemporary home? Don't forget about Sonia from Spain. Sonia offers some great bathroom vanities for the design conscious home owner. I found two great examples that highlight some of their work. The first is a minimalist version in stark white. Here nothing is left to waste. As you look around the bathroom, you can see that everything has its place. There is no oversized design that takes the eyes away from the flow of the room.

The other pictured bathroom vanity is a bit more adventurous and designed for the brave. I immediately think pure contemporary when I see this design featuring various shades of green on black. I do like the compact size of the cabinets and how they sit on the wall. The owner of this set certainly wants the line of vision to focus on these colors. As for my personal tastes, I would go for the more minimalist setting since that applies more to my style.

Moel Armchair by Ligne Roset

Moel Arm Chair ligne Roset Inga Sempe.jpg

Ligne Roset wants you to be comfortable in the Moel sofa group, so they gave it some really soft features. With help from designer Inga Sempe, Ligne Roset used its expertise in thermoformed foam combined with bands of quilting to create the ultimate in luxury seating. The Moel series is available in a large and small sofa, armchair, and footstool in a variety of contrasting colors. Ligne Roset is one of my favorite lines of light and refreshing modern furniture that includes something for every room.

Flowing Shapes from Flou's GrandPiano Bed Series

GRANDPIANO BED BY FLOU AND MARIO BELLINI.jpgThe GrandPiano from Flou of Italy is "scenographic for people who adore the drama of an important bed." Flou, a leader in cutting edge bed designs really went all out on this series that includes three platform beds each with their own unique shape of surrounding frame work. Designer Mario Bellini gave the GrandPiano nice rounded curves that includes built in night stands and recessed cut in for ease in getting in and out of this beauty.

PIANO PIANO BED FROM FLOU AND MARIO BELLINI.jpgThe Piano Piano bed is very similar design but has straight surrounding giving up the curves of its counterpart. One more Mario Bellini design combines the previous features of one curved side and one straight side in a break from the usual simply called the Grand Piano Piano

Light and Modern Cemia Sideboard by Ligne Roset

CEMIA SIDEBOARD BY LIGNE ROSET PETER MALY.jpg

Peter Maly made the best of well rounded corners on his Cemia series which has a strong Scandinavian influence. The Cemia sideboard from Ligne Roset has an informal presence that features recessed drawers with handles made from curved lacquered zamac which are nicely set into the drawer. I also like Maly's use of a very unusual high rise loop style foot that keep the Cemia off the floor and very light looking. Cemia cases are available in walnut veneer or white lacquer, fronts finished in gloss white, taupe or anthracite lacquer. The full range is comprised of sideboards, TV units, chest of drawers and wardrobe.

Rento Swiss coffee table from Dietiker

dietiker rento coffee table.jpg

A coffee table is sure to enhance the appeal of any living room. Pictured here is the Rento coffee table from Swiss furniture maker Dietiker. I am a big fan of having design pieces that serve both function and fashion. This piece combines both elements by offering a space to store books, TV remotes, magazines, and even children's toys. The storage is a great bonus, but so is the great looks of this piece. If you like a modern or minimal home, than this coffee table is sure to please. The simple metal legs draw inspiration from vintage modern. The wooden table leaves are very simple, thin, and to the point. There is no wasted space here as we often see in minimalism. The organization of the wooden leaves offer a bit of complexity in the coffee table since their joining forms a unique pattern. Symmetry is a good word to describe the affects of this assimilation.
