While this is certainly not a high tech addition to your homes exterior design, it will most probably appeal to a mass amount of us who just want to enjoy our patio furniture in comfort. The stacking "white plastic chair" that has found its way into our hearts, patios, and balconies has received a much needed addition from the Swedish Front Design Group. The very easy to apply leather upholstered pad changes the otherwise mundane lounge chair into a stylish and comfortable place to enjoy the sunset. Via

The Y'S de luxe swivel chair was created by designer, Christopher Pillet for Cappellini Furniture of Italy. Y'S construction features leather upholstery and aluminum legs. I am particularly drawn to the contours of the chair and find this type of styling to provide comfort for the person sitting. A bit of recline and raising of the legs helps the human body relax, something that I very much like to do in the evenings. Measurements: 21 3/4" w x 28" d x 30" h. Price: $2,570.00 - $3,988.00. Did you ever wonder about the phrase "It's a classic"? Who determines what becomes a "classic", whether the item is a car, a book, or a piece of furniture? Society, consumers, and the industry from which the piece comes all factor into something earning the honorable title. The next question then becomes, where do these works of art come from? Innovators and visionaries also called product designers. Though product designers will draw up thousands of designs, sometimes only hundreds will go into production, and only a precious few (if any) of their designs will be deemed a classic.

I have actually had the pleasure of meeting one of these geniuses of the design world, and though I have idolized many of his furniture pieces (as well as his accessory collection), I was pleasantly surprised to find that Jeffrey Bernett himself didn't require the same adoration. Impeccably dressed and clean cut with bright watchful eyes, he seemed to enjoy watching the high society party that surrounded him at the opening of Dallas's B&B Italia Showroom, sponsored by Elle Decor. He was there as a special guest, and several of his furniture pieces were present. Jeffrey was a perfect choice for a guest designer, as he is the only American designer B&B Italia works with, and I was thrilled to get a few moments of his time to discuss his design process with him.

Besana of Italy is definitely on the high side of today's modern furniture design specializing in entertainment wall systems, walk in closets, and platform beds. Here is the Time entertainment which is much more than a tv stand with storage drawers. This chameleon of a wall unit takes on a completely different look with a variety of magnolia and canapa polished lacquers and hanging elements with ambra glitter glass doors and wood veneers. Time includes full length floor to ceiling back panels with shelving and plinth accent lights for a dramatic look when the room is dimly lit. Design by Opera Work in Progress.

New to the Moooi line up, the Clip Chair which was inspired by a foldable basket has a dual purpose as extra seating inside or the perfect patio furniture outside with a light and airy look. Designers Blasius Osko & Oliver Deichmann made the Clip chair very simple comprising it from a highly practical solid Beech wood frame and stainless steel components that creates a sculptural object of outstanding aesthetic value, whether folded flat or open. Single slats were beaded on ropes to form 2 hinged surfaces, which could be transformed into a curved 3 dimensional object. Available in black, white, or weng'e.
