Here is a compact sofa sectional from Artifort that is perfect for small spaces in need of a lot of style. The "More Mare" by designer Rene Holten is part of this year's collection that features some awesome modern seating with very clean modern lines focusing on a minimalist concept. This design manages to offer a very generous chaise lounge and sofa section together in one piece which usually works well in lofts and apartments where space is an issue. Combine the More Mare sofa sectional with one of the shapely accent chairs by Artifort for a well matched look. See the collection here.

When it comes to modern designers, George Nelson ranks right up near the top in terms of contributions to furniture design. The Sling Sofa pictured here was manufactured in the 1960s by Herman Miller. The frame is constructed of chromed tubular steel. The seat contains black leather cushions over a leather and rubber sling seat. A piece like this is a modern classic that would fetch from $2,000-$4000 in the open market today based on its condition.

Among the new products from Artifort's chair and seating collection for this year is the Magnolia chair from designer Jacco Bregonje. According to Bergonje the Magnolia armchair "combines the better of two worlds: design and architecture. The organic shell seat is fully foam-filled and provides fantastic comfort and fits perfectly into the celebrated Artifort collection". This eye catcher works well for reception areas or for a nicely decorated modern home. See the entire Artifort furniture collection here including the rest of this years additions. Spring chairs are a creation from Modern Bamboo that take sustainable bamboo and shape it into functional furniture. Modern style defines the chairs which nearly form the letter "S" which in fact should stand for simple, since simplicity defines the overall chair style. Spring chairs could work at the right dining table or provide accent chair seating in a living room. Measurements: 21" x 17" x 37". Available: here.

Danish based VerPan in cooperation with Marianne Panton and family has received the rights to reproduce some of Verner Panton's famous lamps and lighting designs. The VerPan philosophy is "to produce lighting in accordance with the original Verner Panton principles; creating a synthesis between quality and originality with immense respect for his special talent for working with light". Personally I am glad the mid-century modern classics are being offered and shared with the new generations who could use some help from the founders of the movement. Here are a few that caught my eye but you can see the rest of the lamp and hanging lamp collection here.

The Vita Audio R4 integrated music system is a "small box" solution to your music needs. Vita has been encased in an attractive package that comes in either glossy white or walnut. I like the dual-speaker look on the front. The small round speaker covers remind me of a retro throw-back version of a stereo long gone. On the other hand, Vita also looks very modern featuring an "up to date" look in electronics. These days electronics can become so dated in a hurry as technology rapidly changes.
Some of the features include a CD player, iPod dock, USB playback port, DAB/FM radio, and auxiliary inputs. Each of these inputs connects to a powered amplifier and speaker system with 80 watts of power. There is also a clock and alarm on Vita as an extra feature. The front and back of the music system have ample room for inputs being designed for easy "plug and play" use while not creating a crowded place for cables. Price: Walnut $987; Glossy White $1,086. Available: here.

Sure we are used to the boring square plastic white box that comes standard with most interiors, but Modern Doorbells has three distinctly unique models from $89 - $159 that will add a nice touch and personality to your dwelling. Most of us have never seen a good looking door bell but here are three you won't want paint over to hide. See and get them here.

Molecule is an ensemble of contemporary seating and tables that grabs the attention as the dark red contrasts with the stark white. The possibilities are exhaustive when you think of the uses for this furniture. I can picture Molecule being in a trendy restaurant creating a very modern look. In a home Molecule could provide a combination dining and seating area for a more open concept living space. Any way you look at it, this furniture is just plain cool. Available: here.
