I have always had a fond spot for Dutch modern master, Piet Mondrian. Piet's paintings and choice of colors and shapes in the 1910s-1920s swept the art world. Though the art movement was moving towards cubism, Piet moved from traditional painting techniques to abstracts such as pictured here. Every year there is a sweater, purse, or design object made in the likeness of his works. This vase here from Chiasso features such influences. Dimensions: 9.5"x 7.5" x 3". Price: $78. Available: here. Via.

Designer Karim Rashid is no stranger to colorful furniture and interior design, and Furniture Fashion has reviewed several of his trend setting styles. This time Rashid has taken on a new type of project with the Semiramis Hotel in Athens which as you can see reflects on positive energy, heightened experiences, culture, art and design. Every room of this 21st century architectural wonder is decked out with super cool furniture, art, and creative touches you won't soon forget or see in any other hotel out there. My favorite part of this building is the pool and patio area that would no doubt make your relaxing time special. See the rest of the modern furniture and architecture of the Semiramis Hotel here.

Who says a small apartment balcony can't have outdoor furniture? Cake is a small space outdoor furniture set from Moban. You can see how the seating fits underneath the table for easy storage. Further, if you only have one or two guests, you can just get out the amount of seating that you need. I am a big fan of having a backrest, but if space is extremely limited, a set like Cake can serve the amount of space well. Via.

Since 1966 Classique has been setting the bar high when it comes to great looking commercial office furniture, but their reception furniture looks more like the future than the past. Classique has really hit a home run with their modern reception collection and I especially like the optimistic and clean look of the circular desk. Of coarse their executive desks, conference tables, desk chairs, and seating look really great as well and offer a modern continuity especially in today's contemporary architecture. Classique Furniture makes good use of natural woods, leathers, and sturdy metal structuring that hold up well in a commercial environment. See the rest of the office furniture collection here.
