When it comes to great looking free standing tubs, Boffi of Italy excels in the field. These two new modern bath tub releases look as though they were hewn from a piece of solid ivory and make a powerful statement with the simplest of lines. The "Iceland" from designer Piero Lissoni and the "Sabbia" from designer Naoto Fukasawa work well in areas in need of a free standing tub with well rounded curves. This contemporary rendering shows the future of JFK Airport's Terminal 5 food court. Being part of the JetBlue area of the airport, you can see the focus on blue as the primary design color. I like how the circles on the ceiling find their way onto the walls add a ripple-like feel to the overall scene. The choice of white furniture compliments the blue color well. Via.
Now this dual purpose sofa revealed at the Milan Furniture Fair by Poliform and designer Carlo Colombo is my idea of glamorous. The "Park" seems to me like a great place to hang out or park myself while enjoying time with friends in what would surely be a most stunning modern interior décor. Colombo combined a generously sized two seat sofa with a built in marble topped side table that links to an aluminum base. B&B Italia never ceases to tantalize us with their inviting colors and shapes. The "Frank" modular sofa sectional from designer Antonio Citterio is geared for down right lounging, while movable pillows and backrests combined with extra deep seats allows any size sitter to get comfortable. The Frank sofa is available in armless and backless pieces shown here in yellow that allow you to make a "floating island" of seating which can be used as an extra bed if needed when the day is done. Whether you work in an office, from your home, are a stay at home parent, or are a retiree, most people need a place in their home to get organized and collect their thoughts. Home offices are usually considered what designers call "private areas", meaning that they are not some place where people would come when they visit your home. Libraries, while once reserved for only the extremely wealthy, are becoming a popular luxury and are showing up in many custom built homes. The privacy rating for a library can depend on the size of the library and the worth of its contents, but generally a library is a "public area" where family and friends can be invited to read a book or share good conversation on the current authors they're into.
Like any other room, the design of the spaces can range from Olde World Traditional, to Modern or Funky Contemporary. No matter which style you choose, some basic components are required (or at least highly recommended) to make the space complete and functional.
