For the connoisseur of fine wines decanting makes all the difference in the world as it allows a breathing process that really opens up the flavor of the wine. Riedel adds elegance to the experience with a collection of wine decanters and wine glasses for every type of red or white. Here are a few of the crystal wine decanters including the "Swan" that Riedel released in limited availability as part of their collection for 2008. The body of the decanter mimics the gentle curvature of the form of a Swan with an exaggeratedly elongated straight neck that narrows to the elliptical lip, and is as fascinating to look at as it is functional to use. With an apartment balcony you may not be able to put the 8 foot lounge chair that you crave to put out for complete and total relaxation outdoors. In small spaces you have to have something a bit smaller which can at times be hard to find. Here is a cool outdoor lounge chair that features a "compacted" reclining design that can still provide comfort. It features an aluminum frame covered in wicker with an all-weather Viro cushion. Lior Vaknin is a young designer from Israel who became interested in design at an early age. As a child Lior spent time building tree houses outdoors, later working for a design firm, and finally seeking a formal education in design. He now heads up design work at Prototype Designers based in Tel Aviv, Israel. Lior was kind enough to send me pictures of a recent project featuring a barber shop design in Rehovot, Israel. Drawing upon the human hair strand as inspiration, Lior created this wonderful contemporary salon. I was fascinated by the wonderful shapes and imagery of the interior and how the shapes flow and move together. My reaction is much like the possibilities with the human hair strand in the way of its color, shape, and size as it relates to personal hair style. For more information: Lior Vaknin.

Multifaceted designer Jamie Hayon has demonstrated his creative skills in mediums from company logos to interior design, and has a most unusual flair for truly dazzling visuals. Hayon's "Showtime Collection" for BD Ediciones de Diseio is a home furniture collection inspired by classical MGM musicals which combines traditional lines with modern colors and finishes. Hayon "exhibits passion for finding ways were things that are not supposed to match, coexist in elegance using very innovative material combinations like plastic and leather to create this most unique furniture and decorative accessory collection. Shape defines Zephyr's existence as it protrudes from the ground at a 45 degree angle. Challenging common furniture design techniques, J. Wade Beam creates a new look for the decorative Zephyr tables. Zephyr is made of stainless steel that is seamless showing no "weak spots" or seams.
