In today's modern world we often need power for the many appliances that adorn our homes. Thus, we need electric furniture where conceptually power outlets are part of the design. We have all been faced with decorating challenges with what to do with power cords and more often how to get a power cord to a power outlet. "Devo" tables from Cabot Wrenn take up this challenge directly. Built into the design are two power outlets that are tastefully built into the piece, and do not appear prominent in its visual appeal. Here is another of my favorite convertible bed / modular sofa systems from Bruhl which has a rather "chameleon like effect" that can take on a wide variety of looks. The Plupp-Ap from designer Kati Meyer-Brühl can be the perfect overnight convertible bed by night, or decked out with backrests and pillows for a cool and sophisticated sofa by day. The Plupp-Ap works best in a set of two which offers a myriad of set up options including a giant square with a lot of room for some serious lounging. I have always been of fan of candles as they can work for different moods from romance to casual dining. Using candles in conjunction with a chandelier or other hanging lighting fixtures intrigues me. I do not know a great deal about this piece that I found from Holly Hunt. This was the only picture I could find and there was no accompanying information. I will need to go to a showroom to see it in person. I do like what I see at this point. Last year German designer Daniel Becker released the prototype to his Hunting Lines ultra modern chaise lounge that featured bold curves and folded angles with hopes of finding the right manufacturer for production. This year evidence of possible production seem more hopeful with the additional prototype of the Hunting Lines two seater that emulates the lines of the chaise but features squared ends for side by side placement, perfect for extended contract seating or creating a long residential seating surface.
