Corner is a contemporary designed floor lamp from Italian lighting company, Modu Luce. Corner features a striking arc as the stand comes from the lamp base to eventually connect to the lamp shade. Corner's colors are very neutral making this a piece a fit for many contemporary homes. I like the wide circle of light produced by corner as it allows for "light intensive" activities such as reading, studying, or crafts. Modu Luce site: here.

Joel Escalona Studio's latest release is furniture bookcases that stimulate the imagination. Called "MYDNA", these pieces take their influence from that of the DNA strand. Going way back to Biology we can remember that DNA is a double helix where the strands naturally twist as part of their shape. The furniture bookcases follow this design shape and as a result, create an intriguing piece of home décor. The bookcases are currently looking for a manufacturer to pick up production. Sure the name "futon" has been used a lot to describe an easily converted sofa sleeper, but as you would expect from Ligne Roset, the Everynight has a certain style you won't find ordinary. I really like the continuous styling of the three sections that designer Didier Gomez incorporated into this "small space" yet ample sized sofa sleeper that would be right at home in a loft or studio apartment. The seat and back (metal-framed, with slats) are linked together by a mechanism which offers three positions, horizontal, intermediate, and upright. When building or remodeling a house thinking about the use of each room is a critical step in the process. A particular challenge is determining if you will need a certain amount of privacy in a room or if there is a need for a separation from one room to another. Custom interior doors are important to house design since they can provide privacy and separation from one room to the next. Separation from the dining room to the living room can be accomplished through installation of doors as an example. It is easy to forget that doors break the design flow from one room to the next thereby affording you many possibilities in decorating.
