With the New Year almost here, people are making resolutions to get more organized, complete unfinished projects, get rid of things they no longer use, and possibly redo or update their décor. Well before you start throwing everything out, STOP, and thing about whether or not you could reuse, renew, or recycle the item!
To reuse an item means to leave it in it's current state, with exception of adding décor to the item, or decorating the item itself. There are so many items in your home that are undiscovered treasures, all they need is a little TLC.

If you are interesting in cooking over a hearth then looking into wood stove accessories is something worth investigating. In Europe, a stove is also associated with a hearth and open air cooking. There is a restaurant here in my home town that does a wonderful rosemary chicken that is fire roasted in a stone oven. They swear that the cooking technique is part of the secret of that recipe. This interesting accessory here comes from "Stuv" and lets you roast your own items over a wood burning hearth. Their technology keeps meats away from being directly over the flame thereby avoiding flaming up caused by meat juices dripping into an open fire. Perhaps, this is a bit adventurous for many of us, but it sure makes for a neat look picture. More information: here.

There is something magical about a wood burning hearth in a home. Though there are many other types of heating products, wood fueled systems are hard to beat when it comes to creating atmosphere. This product comes from "Stuv" and features a clean design creating a very "up to date" looking hearth for the home. I like the contrast between the iron color of the hearth and the white found in the walls and storage unit. More information: here.

Beddinge is a line of sofa beds from Ikea that are designed to serve multi-purpose furniture functions. For many homes or apartments, sofa beds offer a great way to provide additional sleeping areas while using the piece as an everyday piece of furniture to sit on. There are a few features about this line that appeal to me. First, there are four choices of mattresses from which to choose from. This creates different possibilities on what is comfortable as that varies by person. Beddinge sofa beds use slip covers giving you the option to switch colors out. There are nine color choices. Another neat feature is that the mattress is stored inside the sofa. This makes for a nice package where all the components are stored inside one unit. Price: $479. Product link: here.
