I like using selves as space dividers.
Steel and glass work particularly well because they still enable the room to feel open space with a little more privacy.
Although when using glass one should take into consideration all aspects such as how much the glass will show up the dust, and the safety considerations as well. A no no for a house with kids or kids that visit frequently.
