Enjoyed the article. Worth noting. The two woods mentioned most often on infrared sites are cedar and spruce. Cedar is preferred because it resists cracking and splitting when it is heated up and cooled down many times. Another benefit of cedar is that it is a naturally anti-fungal and anti-bacterial wood. This is important because a moisture-rich environment like a sauna can be a breeding ground for both fungus and bacteria.
