Designer Philippe Starck is well known for modern furniture that has a most unique look, and the Moor(e) chair is no exception. Christian Brown is a furniture designer and architect living in Vermont. Vertigo is a wonderful modern dining room set constructed of FSC certified cherry hardwoods and other sustainable materials. This dining room set creates a look that is modern and at the same time one that has a bit of a rustic feel. My nephew recently figured out how to open doors and is enthralled by it. My brother ran out and got door knob locks for "kid proofing" of the doors. I laughed at the prospect since they waited until the last minute. I was reminded though of how useful a gift these can be and that they are very inexpensive gift ideas. At some time, the home will require child proofing for the kid's own safety as well as the mental sanity of the parents. These door knob locks are only $6 and can be found here.

Names like Massimo Scolari, Léon Krier and Chi Wing Lo, along with Antonello Mosca and Laura Silvestrini form the group of exclusive Giorgetti designers. One of my favorite pieces is the "Scriptor" executive desk and return that combines a large flat plane with one rounded, and one squared end that is supported by a cone and rectangular element for continuity of shape. The return has a complimentary desk top shape in glass that feeds from the cone and is supported by a cylindrical shaped drawer system.
