Every once in a blue moon, an interior designer is lucky enough to come across an artist/product designer/visionary who's work impresses them so much that they would love to decorate their own home in tons of their works. My latest infatuation is all wrapped up in Aaron R. Thomas' incredible works. It is rare that I find a website that captivates me enough to write a full article solely about the works contained on it. Aaron uses acrylic, wood, metal, and more to create his furnishings. I wanted to feature a few here in this article and give you a designers point of view, then get your comments on which pieces you like. We'll start with my favorite furnishing from the Aaron R. Thomas website:

The low sleek lines of Porro of Italy's "Modulor" platform bed is just what a pure modern furniture lover should connect with. Designer Lissoni incorporates small night stands in a raised platform that conceals storage drawer which also acts as a base for the low linear headboard. Large pillows in leather or fabric soften up the stark lines of this otherwise sophisticated design. See the entire collection of great looking modern furniture for the entire home from Porro.

My readers know that I like minimal things as it is a challenge to make our lives simpler. This minimal coffee table offers simplicity and book storage all in one piece of furniture. I like this piece first off due to its minimalism. Now of course it can come in more colors and finishes to match it to any living room. The other thing I find interesting is its size. Pictured here it is almost a stand-alone piece of furniture next to the sofa. Due to its size, this table could work behind a sofa, in front of a sofa, along a wall, or even as a TV stand. The storage compartment underneath is a neat place for books or other objects that you may want to keep there. Product information: here.

Ferruccio Laviani furniture designs are cutting edge modern to say the least and the TL1 table is definitely one of my favorites. The LT1 table features opposing ovals connected by a funnel shape cone that forms a smooth and sinuous style that offers a light open look. Porro of Italy produced the table and also features a full range of super modern furniture that would really deck out a great looking modern décor. Check out the entire Porro collection from Italy here.

All of us need places where we can put our possessions away. The modern storage cabinets pictured here fit this need exactly. Clutter can be a result of not having proper storage furniture to keep things tidy and "put away". These modern storage cabinets were created by designer Rodolfo Dordoni for Minotti Furniture. The name of this furniture line is Archipenko. The design element that consistently sticks out is the circle of brushed metal that appears on each piece. Though the shapes and sizes differ, the central theme remains the metal circle. A great thing about this line is its flexibility. These pieces could easily work in a dining room, bedroom, or living room. More information: here.
