Designer Nathan Turner has teamed up with Elite Leather to produce a new leather furniture collection exclusively for Bloomingdale's which will make its debut this month. Nathan Turners successful Los Angles based shop has been a reliable source for some of the country's leading interior designers, and now his experience and world travels result in a leather line with a mature and classic design. Elite based in California since its inception in 1959 makes all of its leather furniture pieces by hand and I can personally attest to their quality and attention to detail as a buyer and retailer. Here are a few of the pieces you can see at Bloomingdale's, see the rest of the Elite Leather collection here.

When the weather becomes nice it's time to move the family outside for some fresh air. Beautiful outdoor kitchens can make the experience even more special. It is nice to be able to prepare a meal on the patio while you are still part of the outdoor fun as opposed to disappearing inside to the kitchen. Pictured here is the "Cheope" outdoor kitchen from Mobile Cooking Design. It features two stove burners and a barbecue grill with two burners. Overall the appliance is compact with storage space anywhere it can be designed. The sink features a flexible nozzle that can be stretched easily. One side of Cheope is rounded while the other is rectangular. Cheope is made of stainless steel which is a must for outdoor kitchens. More information: here

The Scoop bathtub from designer Michael Schmidt for Falper of Italy is said to have a sculpted shape that flows out of the wall. The Scoop is a perfect combination of the classic bathtub that takes on a more recent and seductive allure. Falper makes it easy to visualize the ultimate in modern bathrooms designs including cabinetry and accoutrements in opposing soft and bold shapes. Dry saunas bring with them many benefits to improve personal wellness. The biggest health benefit is ridding the body of toxins that are harmful. Additionally, people find dry saunas quite relaxing as great ways to relieve stress and bring clarity to the mind. Tylo makes a line of dry saunas for the home. Their styles range from what I call the expected "wooden look" to other design types such as: Japanese, modern, and traditional. Tylo has great attention to detail and creates models that can work in any home decorating style. As I look into the future I wonder if bathrooms will have a dry sauna or perhaps a nice steam shower. Not more than ten or so years ago the advent of the garden Jacuzzi tub started. Now, the garden tub is on the typical home shopper's checklist. Who knows what the future will hold. Over the last week I have been polling people to see what their preference is between a Jacuzzi tub, steam shower, or dry sauna. I have to report that the findings are mixed. I have had a few people say that they would rip their garden tub out and install a dry sauna or steam shower if they had the money to do so. More information: here.

Some times the TV positioning is not optimal based on the viewing angles in a living room. This is the case in my living room. I have a built in wall unit on the right hand side of the living making "my recliner" the best seat in the house. There are other options, however. This wall unit from MDF Italia features a flexible rotating arm for the TV. In the picture you can see how the TV stand can be turned to create a proper angle to watch television. The TV can then be turned back in, flush with the wall unit, to make for a tidy appearance. This is great design by MDF Italia. Via.
