Supernova Bathroom Hardware by Dornbracht

The "Supernova" bathroom hardware line from Dornbracht has a fitting name. This contemporary bathroom concept combines futurism with architectural design. The first thing that catches my eye is the stone shape that rises from the ground. This structure harbors the shower though you can see no enclosure in the picture. It was the intent of Sieger Design and architectect Mike Meiré to create an architectural backdrop in the bathroom. Acting as a center piece to the design, the shower rises like a monument from the bathroom floor creating wonderful architectural element. Other inspiration was to create an island effect and place all the water sources in various areas. You can see the sink on the opposite side of the natural rain shower. To the right of the shower seating is the faucet that feeds the tub. Supernova is a unique concept that is really different than most other bathroom hardware lines that are designed to fit flush up against a wall. See more of Dornbracht's products here.

Human Furniture Photography Exhibit by David Blázquez

Looking for all things furniture related, I stumbled upon this photography exhibit called "human furniture" by David Blázquez. This exhibition is on display at El Fotomata in Sevilla, Spain. In the series of photographs David challenges us with the nude form of the human body posing as inanimate objects. The naked form itself is perhaps most startling and its message that it sends. One consideration by the artist is that if humans were inanimate objects capable of being still as opposed to our boisterous demeanor. Is that even possible? Another dimension is the way you can feel like you are "being watched" even in a room by yourself. Does that mean that we can be watched by objects such as a table or ironing board? Can our minds project an element of humanism in inanimate objects? The concept of humans as furniture is itself startling. It is not our intent to upset readers here at Furniture Fashion. Yet at the same time if we see something different, we should break the story to readers. More information on the exhibit can be found at El Fotomata.

Home Remodeling : 1875 Denver Colorado Schoolhouse

Taking an old building and reshaping it into a modern living space is no small feat. What you see here is a schoolhouse from 1875 that resides outside of Denver, Colorado. Now the owners of the property had a vision of transforming the building into a home while balancing the amazing history of the building. I am particular fond of restoration projects and this one just appears amazing. The inside has been completely reworked. The pristine floors in no way indicate the original age of the structure. The kitchen and living areas look like new construction, frankly. I can imagine the difficult lifestyle on the frontier of Colorado in 1875, but the insides now look like modern bliss.
