The design studio of Arihiro Miyake is very diverse with contributions from interior design to modern furniture products all with a creative element. Miyake who has an extensive background in space planning and interior decorating developed the Fort acoustic partition system that is made from recycled PET bottle fiber. The "Fort" system has its benefits with sound oriented environments as well as being an adaptable room divider that unlike most can be reconfigured to fit specific needs. This may even be the next step in cubicle design for office environments and it definitely looks better than the sterile fabric cover walls we see in most office spaces. Concrete is perhaps one of the most useful tools in construction in stabilizing support structure or as a mainstay in road building. Designing a concrete home residence is a possibility as well as evidenced in this house by Thomas Bendel. Though the entire home is not concrete, large proportions of it embrace its use which creates the "mood of the home". Concrete for me speaks of a stark existence since it is such a raw construction form. My past experience is that it usually elicits a negative response from most people as it is not perceived as creating a "warm" home environment. Via - Daily Icon.

This stunning Mexico home was designed by the architecture firm of 7XA Arquitectura. Lead architects on the project were Angel Lopez and Carlos Ortiz. This home is situated in El Uro, Mexico which is south of Monterey and just east of the Sierra Madre Mountains. My first thoughts were about the large windows and how they were built to take in the view of the mountains. The contemporary design theme in the Mexico home features high ceilings, minimal effects, and squared off angles. The accompanying furniture supports the house plan, such as the Barcelona chairs that you see in the living area. Via and Via.
