Here is an interesting product that combines a chrome shower head with the rail upon which the curtain is hung. The Pluviae is distributed in North America by AFNY and was designed by Mateo Thun & Partners for Rapsel. An interesting prospect is using this type of product in bathroom design since you can create a small circular space with a drain for a shower and not have a larger rectangular space required. It is inventions and designs like the "Combed" from Patrick Decker that give me hope for the future. This dual purpose wheelchair / bed is a step in the right direction for the physically challenged or elderly and gives way to more ideas that will undoubtedly result from this kind of forward thinking. As a person who assists someone who is unable to move freely on their own this type of product is definitely a welcome concept. When used as a bed the Combed features a two layer mattress that uses air and gel for added comfort without the need of additional thickness allowing the bending process to occur when used in the wheelchair configuration.

Here is a fine example of contemporary architecture in Beverly Hills, California. The "Brosmith Residence" embodies the spirit of contemporary design in the use of shape as it spills out on a hill overlooking Mulholland Scenic Parkway. The house is built in small pods creating separation as you move from room to room. Each pod has a distinct rectangular shape where lines are clean and well defined. Privacy is difficult in the Los Angeles area and herein the design helps create that separation. Outdoor spaces are aligned with indoor spaces as you can see from the dining room picture. There are sliding doors that create an opening to a patio to let the California weather become part of the dining experience. This is a single-family residence measuring 4,500 square feet. The design was created by SPFA architects.

Here is a cute product called "Delta" that is designed for several functions. Two ideas that immediately come to mind are using it as a craft table or as a simple modern desk. The design is so simple and yet it is constructed in tasteful lines. I think of the "fold-up" tables you see at an office supply store and how ugly they really are. Delta provides a very decorative solution as a craft table or a modern desk. I am sure as readers you can come up with many more uses yourselves, but it is nice to see such a simple, well designed piece of furniture. More information: here.
