I always have admiration for minimalist pieces as they focus on the bare essentials as the true heart of their design. The M3231 Bench by Ilaria Marelli Studio illustrates that principle. I like the fact that the Tulo chair from Dietiker is compact in its size. Often I find myself looking for occasional chairs to fit a particular space only to find that a large majority of chairs are designed to encompass massive proportions of space. Tulo's small size opens up many possibilities for bedrooms, studies, or living rooms where you may need that extra seating. I find the shape of this chair along with other tub-like chairs to offer comfortable seating for my back with a nice place to rest my arms. Tulo was designed by Shin Azumi. Voido rocking chairs are a modern marvel when it comes to industrial design. Made of polyurethane, these chairs are designed for both indoor and outdoor use. Voido is a combination of orange and red creating a striking visual appeal. I like how function and art have been brought together by designer, Ron Arad. Voido's shape alone is artistic in its form and how the varying angles of the structure connect. Some of the original prototypes were built in steel which would be sight to see. Price: $745. Lately I have been finding the coolest round furniture and home products, and the Wagiman by Rousseau of the UK is yet another seriously great modern lounge chair, but this one offers a slightly different hook. The Wagiman is a LED illuminated acrylic hanging bubble with stainless steel ring and fixings that has engraved INSA artwork. Designer Rousseau x Insa included a white fur cushion for comfort and a retro connection to the late 60's when Eero Aarnio's original "Bubble Chair" hit the scene. I have no idea how much the Wagiman lounge chair costs but cool like this can't be cheap. See the other products and interior designs by Rousseau here.
