Looking for a new comfortable chair to add an accent touch to your room? West Elm just released the new hemp slipper chair. The hemp chair's classic design adds refinement and style to any room in the home. I'm a huge fan of the cinnabar color fabric as it really stands out against the espresso stained wooden legs, giving it a very powerful presence. If cinnabar isn't really your color, you can also pick the chair up in flax as well. What is nice about this chair is its ability to blend into many rooms of the home. The hemp chair could be "right at home" in the bedroom as a reading chair or vanity chair, in the living room as an additional piece of seating, or in the study as a place to read a book. Priced at $399, this is a reasonable cost for a nice accent piece.

Ligne Roset wants you to be comfortable in the Moel sofa group, so they gave it some really soft features. With help from designer Inga Sempe, Ligne Roset used its expertise in thermoformed foam combined with bands of quilting to create the ultimate in luxury seating. The Moel series is available in a large and small sofa, armchair, and footstool in a variety of contrasting colors. Ligne Roset is one of my favorite lines of light and refreshing modern furniture that includes something for every room.

When you combine the vision of designer Marcel Wanders and new age materials, they give way to some outstanding products. The Crochet Chair is unlike anything ever produced and evokes stares and admiration from all who see it. The resin and fiber construction allow a durable yet very light look that seems far to elegant to be furniture. The Marcel Wanders Personal Editions are quite an impressive series of delicate hand painted and hand crafted statues, lamps, and larger pieces like chests and side boards with an unmistakably intricate detail. One of my favorite collection Wanders designed are the Boutique sofa groups for Moooi that proves how different the same basic item can look when dressed up with contrasting fabrics. When it comes to Danish Modern furniture there is one name comes to mind as the father of the movement, and that's Hans J. Wegner. Hans started his studio in 1943 and enjoyed much success and accolades as one of the worlds most renowned designers specializing in chairs. In 1960 Wegner released his soon to be famous CH445 Wingchair in limited quantities. In 2006 Carl Hansen & Sons dusted off the blue prints and reintroduced the lounge chair to immediate success and awards at the IMM in Cologne, and the Copenhagen International Furniture Fair that same year. Today the wingchair is what Hans Wegner envisioned it to be and then some reaching true furniture icon status and a place in the homes and hearts of modern furniture lovers world wide. According to Carl Hansen & Sons "we have worked with Wegner's original drawings and some of the few pieces that remain from the sixties, when a smaller number of them were produced by hand. And we're proud to say that we have upheld the original construction and materials - including solid beech frames and hand-sewn piping - just the way that Wegner designed it." If you want furniture that will last in not only quality of construction, but style as well, the licensed modern classics are the way to go.

Sure most of the classic leather wing back chairs are produced by traditional companies that specialize in that style of furniture. Natuzzi who is known for modern and transitional furniture has a few traditional pieces like the Samuel wing back chair that carries all the quality you would expect from a classic staple in leather seating. The Samuel has a slightly modernized look free of tufts and nail heads that still sports traditional traits like roll arms, and a broad upright shape that leads to the winged back. Natuzzi makes a few really great traditional leather sofas and chaise lounges that are perfect to pair with the Samuel chair in a multitude of leather colors and grades.
