Matt Carr has created this wonderful functional coffee table available at the Umbra store. When I look at the Mimosa up close it appears as a large "W" with an accompanying table top. The angular "W" creates a great nesting place to store books, remote controls, or magazines. In particular, magazines stored inside do not make this piece of furniture look "junky" as you can see in the picture. Designers Paolo Lucidi and Luca Pevere created this unique table called "Hook". A departure from the typical table top supported by a base, Hook challenges us with its shape and foundational support. With the weight bearing support being on one side we are presented with a unique design that we would not normally assimilate. Tape is an interesting piece of furniture made by Krios of Italy. Tape can be used as a TV stand or as a coffee table. The first "eye catching" element of this piece is the flower serigraph design on the inside of its rectangular shape. I know that this is not for everyone, but you have to admit that it is different than the normal TV stands or coffee tables on the furniture market today.
