When it comes to coffee tables and dining room furniture, from traditional to wrought iron, Sherrill Occasional has a selection second to none. With over 1000 styles and 30 years of experience Sherrill Occasional designs tables and chairs that not only look great, but endure the test of time. I really like this poker game table with the pullouts for drinks so the playing area is free for serious business. The complete line includes coffee tables, entertainment units, cabinets, and home office furniture.

It is so nice to look back at the furniture classics and see how the roots of the modern movement started. The Tavolino round accessory table by Gio Ponti for example was designed in 1932, seventy five years ago and still looks very much in style today. The two glass discs suspended by the polished nickel columns are very simple which allows it to tastefully blend into a clean modern environment. Of coarse the classics are not cheap, the Tavolino list price is $2500 from Fontana Arte. W 24.1" H 24.1"

How about an accent table that looks like a cupcake? I am reminded of a foil paper wrapper around a cupcake when I look at this accent table from Jellio. This may or may not fit the décor of your house, but it sure makes for a conversation piece. Called the birthday table, this furniture piece retails for $750.
I know this is not a new piece, but it is a staple in the interior design game nonetheless. The Warren Platner series of sculpted steel wire tables and chairs by Knoll are so clean and timeless they have cemented themselves as an icon of the modern era. I visited a store this weekend specializing in classic furniture and could not help but recognize the simplistic beauty of the small round coffee table. Where other styles rely on flash and glitz, the Platner design makes a quiet but effective statement. See the great classics at Bonaluxat.
The space saving ideas keeps on coming. From designer Akemi Tanaka this bench with end tables or coffee table with an ottoman combination which ever you prefer is a super idea. Akemi is from Brooklyn and has several other furniture designs that are equally innovative and environmentally friendly including a sofa table convertible. The line is called Tagei which means versatility in Japanese and as you can see it is appropriately named. Custom wood, finishes, and fabrics are available so expect a 4-6 week order time. 44x24x17.5 (7 foot when open)
