Pictured here is an entry table designed for a hall in the home. I can see a table like this right inside the door for keys, books, and other possessions brought in from a days work. In today's modern world we often need power for the many appliances that adorn our homes. Thus, we need electric furniture where conceptually power outlets are part of the design. We have all been faced with decorating challenges with what to do with power cords and more often how to get a power cord to a power outlet. "Devo" tables from Cabot Wrenn take up this challenge directly. Built into the design are two power outlets that are tastefully built into the piece, and do not appear prominent in its visual appeal. Zeritalia's clean modern coffee table designs feature one of my favorite characteristics, bent glass. Here are three of their modern coffee table designs that are the works of Diego Granese who brings us the Zeta shown in vibrant blue, the Live in thick frosted multi-level extra-clear white, black or red lacquered glass from Emilio Nanni, and the Kink from famed designer Karim Rashid. Zeritalia was founded 1991 by the industrial group Curvet and is the only company in Europe to offer products in tempered bent glass for customer safety. I find the combination between the legs and table top interesting on this midcentury furniture piece designed by Milo Baughman. The table top is clean walnut veneer and appears as though it could adorn many styles of furniture. The metal base creates an entirely different effect than the table top and speaks of the influence of modern design. The tight-nit metal pattern reminds me of architecture as something that may appear as part of a building structure. This occasional table was made by Thayer Coggin who had a long association with Milo Baughman. This would be a wonderful find in a resale shop today in the neighborhood of $1,100-$1,500.
