Here are 3 fireplace ideas that may help give you some visuals about what can work in new house plans or a remodeling project. There are many options on the market today, but it is still difficult to go out to one shop and see them all first hand. The first fireplace is clean and contemporary featuring a stainless surface built into a wall. The second fireplace is more transitional with a stone face with the typical black iron trim. The third model is a rustic fireplace that would be great in a lodge or a cabin. I think the stone work around the fireplace really makes the visual in this living room. These examples all come from Fireside Home and Comfort and can be found at their website: here.

Every once in a blue moon, an interior designer is lucky enough to come across an artist/product designer/visionary who's work impresses them so much that they would love to decorate their own home in tons of their works. My latest infatuation is all wrapped up in Aaron R. Thomas' incredible works. It is rare that I find a website that captivates me enough to write a full article solely about the works contained on it. Aaron uses acrylic, wood, metal, and more to create his furnishings. Thomas website:

If you are tired of looking at every-day fans at places like Home Depot, then check out this modern ceiling fan. Called "Teardrop", you can see where the shape has taken its design influence. Now, I am a big fan of metal in modern living rooms and the brushed nickel usual goes well with most modern furniture. Teardrop comes with three fan speeds. Each fan blade is 14" in length. The down-rod measures 12" in length. Though it is a bit tough to tell in the picture, there is a spot for one light bulb up to 75 watts in strength. If you like this modern ceiling fan you can get more information on it: here. Price: $370.
