The Woodway home was a project by Bohlin Cwinski Jackson that took a 1950s suburban home and brought it up to date. The home is located in Seattle, Washington, a city that features beautiful scenery. The architects were able to take nature and incorporate it into the theme of the residence. The Woodway home looks like a beautiful wilderness home with its wood design and natural landscape. Jan Schreiner is a young Russian designer that created a wonderful design concept for a restaurant called "The Purple Café". The Purple Cafe" won the Grand Prix Award at the International Design-Debute' 2008 competition, the annual interior design event in Russia in nomination for the "Best Interior-Design Concept". The colors are striking in how they create a visual backdrop that creates ambience and invites patrons in. I do enjoy how the colors flow so well from the carpet to the furniture and to the walls. Shipping containers are perhaps one of the most common supply chain items in the world. The standard container moves product on cargo ships in millions of tons on a given day. Often, we forget how goods came to be in our city of residence. Exposure Architects put the "Greentainer" project together where they focused on the container and designing something that was friendly to the environment. Here is a great example of careful space planning combined with modern architecture in the White Sea House in Japan. The Takao Shiotsuka Atelier architect firm designed this home to face the sea which welcomes in the great visuals with expansive windows highlighted by the clean modern interior design and minimalist décor. This type of modern architecture is in many ways timeless and enduring as it is free of clutter and trend oriented characteristic which are accentuated by the all white interior and exterior. I really like the simple and stark landscaping used especially the white rock yard. I highly recommend keeping the red wine in the kitchen.

I am often amazed at the ingenuity of architects and designers as they challenge our concept of shape and space. This unique shaped contemporary building is located in Melbourne where it resides in a prestigious area steeped in history. This four-story building is planned to have a café at its first level and offices above. On the fourth level is to be an office where the honorary consular of Monaco will reside offering a grand place to meet and greet dignitaries and important guests.
Part of the scope of this project was that Melbourne wanted to create a sense of urbanism as it is has slowly eroded over time. According to the architect firm, McBride Charles Ryan, this type of project is rare. I applaud the government for getting behind such a wonderful contemporary architecture project. I am sure that this building will be a sight-seeing stop for tourists.
