When it comes to home design it is difficult to "think outside the box". Let's face it. The world is full of clichés. We hear that at work every day, at home, and amongst friends. So how do we really create something different? The first thing is to forget what we know now and start completely over. That is what I think of when I saw these unique house plans from Antonino Cardillo. This house impresses me since it defies commonly accepting building techniques. First off, any time that you move away from 90 degree angles, it becomes much more difficult to build without defect. Also, the distribution of weight in a home is much easier achieved through traditional construction methods. The home featured here is near Barcelona, Spain. As you look at the pictures you can see the incredible views of the home interior created by the sloped ceilings and the general curvature of the architecture. Via.

The pictures here feature a villa two hours outside of Tokyo. You can see the beautiful Pacific Ocean view coupled with a backdrop of the mountains. This house is owned by a Tokyo family as a place to get away. The modern design of this house is really fitting with the light colored concrete walls and the multitude of windows to soak up the great views. Via - Materialicio.

This beach house was originally built in 1976 and measures 2,900 square feet. The 1970's had many great things happen, but one of the constraints of this era was certainly home construction methods versus the needs of today's family. There are often issues with homes from this era and I firsthand have lived in one of them. There is a bright side to this story, however. This home is a beach front property in Malibu, California.
In the Western hemisphere it is hard to beat California for its great weather and lovely beaches. An important element in this remodel was to accent the point of the beach while at the same time limiting less soothing elements such as the road. In the pictures you can see how they did a fabulous job of opening up the windows towards the ocean to maximize the view. Via: Modresdes.

Nurai is an exclusive island resort design project in Abu Dhabi. Perhaps, lesser known than the nearby city of Dubai, there is lots of speculation that Abu Dhabi is the richest city in the world. Nurai is the architectural vision of Zaya LLC which plans to bring together the best elements of resort, island, and beach living. The design pictures speak volumes about the luxury of their plan and how exquisite a community this will truly be. Via.
