Having a home in the Hamptons is the American dream for wealthy families living in New York. Montauk is on of the eastern most places in the Hamptons offering seclusion and prime oceanfront properties. The amazing thing about this home is its modern architecture. Most Hamptons houses following more traditional residential architecture styles such as Colonial, Victorian or Georgian. This Montauk home is 7,500 square feet with a guest house of 2,500 square feet. There is a private path down to the beach. It includes an infinity edge pool and hot tub. Other amenities include a home gym, movie screening room and great ocean views. Via.

This nifty prefab home is called "Loft Cube". This product was created with the concept that it could fit on a building rooftop. Since space is so limited in certain cities, why not use a roof as another place to put a small home? I do think they did a cool job on the home interior. Via: Momoy & Wetjetset.

As a fan of contemporary home design I like to see how architects challenge us and our perceptions of space, functionality and visual appeal. The Blairgowrie Court Residence is definite "eye candy" if you like to look at home pictures and see what creative minds have come up with. The first takeaway for me is the wide open feel of the entire decorative theme. Open space abounds much like what you would see in decorative minimalism. I cannot be certain without having stepped inside, but it looks as though concrete floors may adorn several of the rooms. If not concrete, then it is a dark tile pattern that looks very close to concrete. Nonetheless, this makes a statement by the home owners about their perception of contemporary home design. Via.

Amidst the old world skyline on Vienna emerges the House Ray 1 which represents the cutting edge modern architecture and interior design of Elke Meissl and her partner/ husband, Roman Delugan of Meissl and Delugan Architects. This luxury penthouse has been described as "James Bondish" with floor to ceiling walls of glass, sloping floors, and built in furniture that adds to the spatial continuum. Here are some of the living spaces and exterior characteristics of the House Ray 1 that features a kitchen referred to as a "culinary cockpit" a stairway that cantilevers from the side of the building, and ramp flooring that leads to the "living zone", the family favorite. This ultra modern structure has been seen by some as cold and impersonal, I think it shows the 21st century comfortably surrounded by its past. See more about the House Ray 1 at dwell.com

Here is some luxury apartments located in the heart of Los Angeles right near the action in Hollywood. The project is called "the Lofts at Hollywood and Vine" and features a restored building that was originally built in 1929. The building was formerly known as "Equitable Building" having served as a landmark in Los Angeles for many years. This is an amazing building considering that 1929 was the year of a great stock market crash that ushered in the Great Depression. In the project the former architecture was kept in tact, with the interiors seeing restoration now leading to the sale of luxury loft apartments. The interior design pictures really showcase the possibilities in decorating one of the units. The modern furniture was carefully selected creating a unique blend of old and new.
