When it comes to shower head rain, this is where you can treat yourself to luxury. A close friend of mine was telling me how she wants to remodel her bathroom. She has been in her house for ten years and rarely uses her garden tub. Her plans are to rip out the garden tub and put in a luxury shower. Her reasoning was that the shower would get used all the time, whereas the garden tub sits idle. I was asked what I thought about her idea. Her concern was whether or not it would hurt her chances to sell the property in the future. I responded that my belief is that it will not hurt the chances to sell. Many people do not use their garden tubs that often. I did caution that the shower would have to be nice to win buyers over with the new bathroom concept. Though a garden tub is on our "mental checklist" of house needs, when you really think about it shower head rain in a luxury bathroom setting has its own appeal. Picture source: here.

Laufen's "One" modern bathroom collection from the ILbagno Alessi series is their first to be designed as a single concept. Looking for bathroom furnishings is great fun since that room can really be creative in its color choices. I found this soft blue vanity from NeaBath that I really enjoy. This is a fun shade of blue and one that would be great to coordinate with towels, rugs, and shower curtains. This piece is called "Wave" and gets its name from the gentle curves of its shape. Wave offers elegance and a bit of flair due to its shape. In these types of models you do sacrifice some storage space since the vanity does not go all the way to the ground, but it also creates a more open feel for the bathroom furnishings in the room. The play on black and white colors is a constant home decorating theme and one that is widely accepted in the design industry. I came across these bathroom pictures featuring the use of black and white together which are great examples of the theme. Each example features a sink basin, bathroom vanity, and storage cabinet. These products were created by Phoenix Design for Laufen. The wallpaper in the first image brings out a more wild version of the theme where the colors challenge our sensory imaging. The second image speaks more to simplicity and cleanliness where the color lines are not as aggressive. More information: here.

The Alessi bathroom hardware line by Laufen features modern designs with small footprints. Square footage in a bathroom is important making options like this appeal to consumers. Who says you have to sacrifice style for size? One of the more striking images is that of the toilet. If you want to depart from the typical shape that was designed well over a hundred years ago, this may be one to consider. It also points out possibilities in giving your bathroom a more modern feel. The more cylinder shaped sink basins also create a nice shape and support the "different look" offered by the Alessi line from Laufen. More information: here.
