Suginoki is a Japanese cedar tree that is often used as a bath bench or shower stool. The history behind its choice is that upon hitting hot water Suginoki releases cedar fragrances thereby enhancing the bathing experience through aromatherapy. I recently was in a new home that had a copper sink in its bathroom. The overall theme of the home was "old world" with high ceilings, an open air design, and dark colors.
