In a previous post Furniture Fashion reviewed the Open Air Lounge System from Italian furniture manufacturer Meritalia, part of a series by designer Fabio Novembre. Here is another super sharp part of the ultra modern collection for the ultra modern furniture lover. The Air Lounge Platform Bed transitions the smooth lines of this beautifully sculpted design into the bedroom which previously included a sofa, chair, and coffee table. Fabio Novembre is well known for designs that combine straight lines and smooth curves for a most stunning look.

Having been well over due for purchasing a new bed, it's no surprise that the LAX Platform Bed by MASH Studios caught my eye. The first thing I noticed was the clean low styling and the absence of a boxspring. The natural plywood used in the construction of the platform bed offers enough give and durability while providing the arability a mattress needs through the openings between each slats. What's really unique is the wall mounted headboard with aluminum sliding doors which would make my bedside table a lot less cluttered thanks to the extra space.

At Furniture Fashion we always enjoy seeing new designs and supporting designers abroad. Here is a design that was submitted by Noah Baumgartner that features and interesting bed made of ash. The design is called "Bet". Noah submitted the following information regarding "Bet".

The GrandPiano from Flou of Italy is "scenographic for people who adore the drama of an important bed." Flou, a leader in cutting edge bed designs really went all out on this series that includes three platform beds each with their own unique shape of surrounding frame work. Designer Mario Bellini gave the GrandPiano nice rounded curves that includes built in night stands and recessed cut in for ease in getting in and out of this beauty.
The Piano Piano bed is very similar design but has straight surrounding giving up the curves of its counterpart. One more Mario Bellini design combines the previous features of one curved side and one straight side in a break from the usual simply called the Grand Piano Piano
Often there is nothing more desirable than a simple platform bed, free of a headboard and night stands, just a cool clean platform. The "Dreamland" from designer Christophe Pillet and the Ceccotti Collection of Italy is just that, a modern "Zen" sleeping platform free of additions, possessing a lot of visual appeal. Helping out with the visuals Pillet appointed Ebony-Zed wood for the bottom support, Rosewood, Ebony or Makassar for the fascias, and supple leather for the top panels of the platform giving Dreamland true legitimacy as the Ceccotti Collection is known for. The entire collection offers magnificence in modern furniture with function and close attention to detail as standard features.
