Here is a bit of an oddity in furniture where chairs have been constructed from oil drums. This concept was created by Snodevormgevers of the Netherlands. It's actually and intriguing proposition when you consider recycled material was used from the oil industry which is under great pressure from environmentalists. You can visit their website: here.

Loyal readers, I have some great news this morning. Furniture Fashion is now being published on the Amazon Kindle. I am really happy about having my blog listed in the "Arts & Entertainment" section of Blogs. I am a big fan of Kindle having owned one for over a year now. I enjoy the ease of using it, downloading books for a fraction of the cost, and saving trees by being paperless. I understand that pictures are important to us and really help share inspiration in our reader community. Pictures are currently in black in white in the Kindle format, but some day I imagine color will be available for images.
There were over a 1,000 blogs listed under Arts & Entertainment as I browsed on my Kindle last night. I did not see Furniture Fashion amongst the top 200, but I hope to move that up in the future. It is understandable since we are a new publisher. I ran a search under Blogs for the word "furniture" and popped right up at the top. Here is a link for our listing on the Amazon website: Furniture Fashion on Amazon. I hope to find a way to run a promotion and give away subscriptions (if that is possible) to celebrate this event. If you have some time, I would love to hear from our readers if you can provide a "customer review" on Amazon since I believe that is a powerful way to support blogs and help other potential readers understand what the content is about.
Here is a video where a few designers talk about the most recent Las Vegas Furniture Market held in the World Market Center. In the video the talk about products that moved them and what that saw in home design trends. The next market is scheduled for September 14-17. Show information can be found at the website here.
There is great news for design and art professionals that use an iPhone. Beginning June 1st there will be an application available in the Apple Store for matching colors off of images with the corresponding paint color. The application is called "Ben Color Capture". Benjamin Moore developed the application to run off of their database of paint colors. It works by zooming in on an image. At the bottom of the iPhone you will seen a line of colors that show the corresponding paint color. I really like this feature as you can use any type of image and then find the color you are seeking.

Novita PR was kind enough to send more product peeks for the upcoming 2009 ICFF. The International Contemporary Furniture Fair will be held in Jacob Javits Convention Center on May 16-19 in New York City. These products feature some of their clients who will be exhibiting at the show. My "faves" from these are the white chair and the outdoor light.
