For three generation the fusion of the traditional craftsmanship, and the innovation and creativity of the worlds top designers have come together in a furniture collection where practicality and aesthetics meet in a rare balance. The Riva1920 collection of Italy is spawned from a commitment to use solid reforested timber, skilled craftsman, ad hoc fittings and fixtures, and natural oil and wax treatments as a finishing touch. I must say the creativity and individually non-mass produced concept of the Riva1920 furniture collection is a breath of fresh air in a world of faster and cheaper. Here are just a few of the solid wood furnishings in a rather wide series that features beds, tables, benches, chairs, storage chests, as well as kitchen cabinets and islands. All products are formaldehyde free!

Coffee. Café. Java. Espresso. Latte. No matter how you spell it or prepare it, it is an obsession for most people who drink it. At one time, the only place you could get specialty coffees like cappuccinos or espressos was in a boutique coffee shop, or you could eek by at home with standard pot coffee (which can also be excellent, thank you). Now having an espresso machine in the home is as simple as picking one up from a kitchen accessory store like Williams Sonoma. But not everyone uses this machine everyday, so the question becomes where to put this modern marvel... Inside the cabinet next to the blender perhaps? Think again! These specialty coffee machines are made to be as neat looking as the coffee they produce. In newer kitchens, they are showcased as built-in models, or placed in a spot that was designed just for them, the coffee or beverage bar.
More and more, I am seeing a trend of putting in coffee bars in master bed & bathrooms, guest suites, or media/game rooms as well as in their normal spot in kitchens. Beverage centers that have not only a coffee spot, but wine, liquor, and soda storage have taken this idea a step further in kitchens as well as in media/game rooms.

Staircase was created by designer, Danny Kuo. Cleverly, he combined a tall cabinet with the ability to reach the top shelves. There is no need to grab a step-stool here as you can pull out the bottom sections and use them as a staircase. Via.

For active entertainers this bar dispenser may have some appeal. This project was created by ten Swedish designers for a Beefeater competition where the object was to solve a bar's issue in servicing customers. You can see that the "drinks will flow" with this model. The design team, From Us With Love, won the competition. This device will be on display at Designgalleriet in Stockholm from 27 August to 2. Note: use with extreme caution! Via.

I found this photo to be funny as it made me think about complaining to management. Just step right through the door and voice your complaint. This is a nice "open door policy" kind of image. We cover all sorts of doors at Furniture Fashion so why not this one?

The source of this image was a gallery opening for artist Bedwyr Williams.
