We have done quite a few luxury home interior design segments here at Furniture Fashion, and I wanted to show how the other half lives in their luxury yachts. It seems that nothing is lacking in these glamorous water craft, in fact I would say that it's the homes that seem to be lacking, after all no matter how nice your backyard pool is its no comparison to a nice island cove in the Mediterranean or Caribbean. I hope you enjoy these luxury yacht interiors and get some interior design inspiration if you are fortunate enough to have one yourself.

If you are decorating a rustic interior or want furniture made from reclaimed, recycled, and sustainable harvested wood check out the collection of Environment Furniture. Their philosophy is "environmental responsibility and stewardship with a strong commitment to people and the planet through a forward thinking, using materials and processes with low environmental impact". I agree with being good to mother earth and the Environment Furniture collection really puts you in touch with nature and away from the steps that so much of the mass produced furniture goes through. One piece that caught my eye is the "Giramundo Swivel Chair" made from recycled multi-colored yarn. See the entire collection of environmentally friendly and rustic furniture from Environment Furniture HERE.

Rolf.fr was kind enough to send in these images from Dutch Design week. They took on a project of transforming old furniture into something new. You can see from the images a small chest that could be found at a yard sale or resale shop for a small amount of money. In the project they cut away pieces and added others creating a modern interpretation of an old piece that was likely headed for the furniture donation pile.
Every year Interior Design features their "Best of Year Awards" which highlight the most impressive and innovative products for all areas of a well dressed home or office interior. The voting is on now for the contest that will end this Sunday night Oct. 11th. One that caught my eye and personal sense of "I need that" is the kitchen Workspace Component System from Henrybuilt that includes a cutting board, colander, and knife block designed to integrate with the Henrybuilt backsplash system. The components store neatly on the back splash and are designed to function with the counter top area around the sink. Available in HDE plastic or teak. See and vote on this years entries at here Interior Design.
