Here are some sample kitchens created by Adam at Artistic Kitchen Designs. This is the "Maxima" line which features a semi-circular kitchen island at its centerpiece. The shape invites interaction of family and friends while providing a lot of space to move around. An interesting feature is the handle-free cabinets which create a first impression of a smooth wall as opposed to typical kitchen cabinetry. In one photo the black and white cabinet wall is creates a wonderful contrast to the kitchen island. More kitchen designs can be found on their website here.

With a focus on designing a modern kitchen to reevaluate what truly makes a kitchen functional, Electrolux Icon appliances and Interior Design Magazine held a competition with 110 thousand dollars on the line. Winner Marcello Zuffo's futuristic kitchen shown here in orange "featured movable components that can be reconfigured to adapt to the task at hand and incorporated a contemporary sculptural component contrary to a typically rectangular floor plan." As interior design and kitchen appliance innovation moves forward, it is very likely these pictures of the first through third award winners will be a reality in a few years. The great feature of the "Dream" kitchen from Pedini is the way that it can be customized. Their color scheme offerings center on general color in a kitchen to the complimentary cabinets. The examples here show kitchens in grey, white, and sky blue. It is interesting to see how the cabinet colors change to match the theme of the kitchen. The grey example highlights cabinetry that is darker that compliments the grey theme. The sky blue variety has a very soft blue cabinetry to fit the sky theme. The blue cabinets are so subtle that they don't "jump out at you", but in reality is a unique color not normally found in kitchen design. If you plan to build a kitchen the choices are limitless. Every year the Australian International Design Awards pay homage to those innovative designs and inventions that represent design excellence and make our lives better. This year's entries include two modern kitchen appliances from German manufacturer Miele that represent the future of convection and steam cooking around the world. Here are the two entries which include the Miele Combi Steam Cooker and Miele's 90 cm Pyrolytic Oven, touted as "the best oven in the world". I being into the aesthetics can't help but notice the cool modern look which always makes things more acceptable.
