This simple lamp won the prestigious Red Dot Design Award in March 2009 for its clever design. It is called the "LED Lamp". This desk lamp is turned off and on using a concealed sensor at the base of the lamp. Perhaps the most amazing quality is how the lights themselves were so well blended into the thin strip of wood in the lamp's arm. The end result is more like a wooden sculpture rather than a traditional lamp design. More information can be found here.
In these more conservation driven times incorporating some green elements into home decorating is in. This lighting fixture allows the home owner to participate by providing a placeholder for driftwood. When washed up on a beach driftwood may be thought of as litter though it is biodegradable. Here it becomes an extra decorative touch to lighten up a room. Called "Tundra", this product can be found here.
Bleu Nature is known for their products that are inspired by nature. They often include earthly objects such as driftwood and stones. This chandelier is made from small stones which encase the lights. This product is called "Lustre Ilitsi" and can be found here.

These 4 contemporary chandeliers come from Katz and were created by designer Stanislav Katz. Each example is different without a theme being central in the design of all four. The blimp made me think about the rock band Led Zeppelin and the artwork on their CD covers where the "zeppelin" is a common symbol. The colors of the second one made me think of "Neapolitan Ice Cream" though there are more than three colors in the product. These modern chandeliers are interesting, because when you first see them your own thoughts will develop about their inspiration, which are completely different than mine. Via.
