This may be the wave of the future and interior lighting if NoDesign and the "wanetlight" hanging light are successful. The project by Jean-Louis Frechin of France is an interactive system where a remote control is moved and the sensor adjusts to the motion and in this case the higher the motion the more lights come on and vise versa. Frechin and NoDesign are currently working on several interface projects which will one day be the standard as technology and home décor products continue to merge. See more of the NoDesign interface collection here.

Details matter and nothing sets the mood of a well decorated room quit like proper lighting. Modiss adds a touch of designer drama to their collection of lamps and hanging lights with today's technology that utilizes LED and halogen bulbs to set the perfect tone. Here are three of their wall mounted sconce lights that caught my eye, which are a good way to add light to those dark hallways and out of the way spots. Wall lighting also frees up small areas like night stand space while providing a much more decorative approach that a typical lamp. Modiss has an exceptional line of all sorts of lighting including ceilings, tables, and floor lamps with a distinct flair all produced in Barcelona Spain.

Light is defined as a narrow band of electromagnetic energy, which stimulates receptors in the eye that enable vision. Wavelengths between 380 nanometers and 760 nanometers are referred to as visible light and are some of the many marvels of the universe that affects everything from science to design. In the case of the design world, light affects and controls color, specifically called hue. Hue is the characteristic of color perception denoted by what we call red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and violet. Simply put, light does not just control what color looks like, but in fact creates color based on how different casts of light interact. This is why you can purchase a throw pillow in a store, thinking that it will look perfect with that new violet sofa in your game room, and get it home only to discover that it is not even violet, but a strange shade of burgundy.

The Frandsen Projekt is the go to company for so many well known high profile corporate companies when it comes to super sleek lighting. They also do some of the coolest residential hanging lights and lamps made from a wide variety of materials. The Bait Lamp designed by Henrik Pedersen is the Frandsen Projekt's latest release unveiled at the ICFF. This simple floor lamp has a carbon fiber rod, with a movable brushed steel weight that acts as a counter balance that can be slid along the lamp to adjust the height of the lighting. At the same time the carbon fiber rod will naturally adjust its curve like a fishing rod which is the inspiration for the Bait Lamp.

The Glo-Ball T1 Table Lamp is the creation of Jasper Morrison and his take on hanging lights. Typically, you see a globe as a hanging light, but here you can enjoy it in a table variety. Construction consists of hand blown opaline glass that is acid etched to provide even diffusion of the light. The cord and stem are muted as much as possible to give the sensation of free floating light. The light controls include a dimmer allowing for your own home décor setting of light intensity. Measurements: H 23.5" Diameter 13" Cord L 75". Price: $680. Via.
