Some things never go out of style, and famed designer George Nelson had a special vision that will carry on far into the future. Nelson's "Bubble Lamps" designed in 1947 and released in 1950 by Howard Miller are back in full production thanks to Modernica who now makes them exclusively to the exact original specifications. The Bubble Lamp series which is featured in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York is available in hanging, floor, table, or sconce models for application in every part of your home or business.

Light is simple, great looking lamps that allow light to playfully enhance its surroundings are a little more specialized. Artemide of Italy has it all figured out when it comes to really cool lamps from ceiling to floor, and table to wall. The most recent releases added to the Artemide collection features the liquid effect of the "Mercury" hanging lamp that disperses a delicately diffused light off its silver droplets. Ross Lovegrove, Ora-ito, and Karim Rashid are three of the well known designers that contributed their talents to the stunning new lamps for 2008 from Artemide.
Foscarini shows their diversity in hanging lights here with two dramatically different concepts. The smooth glossy shapes of the New Buds by Rodolfo Dordoni add a well rounded touch of class in glass with a splash of subtle color thrown in. This 1993 release form Dordoni is as much a hit today as it was 15 years ago. In sharp contrast the Allegro series of hanging lights from designer Atelier Oi depends on sharp angles and points to make its dramatic statement. The Allegro family includes hanging and ceiling mounted lights in several metal finishes and three distinctly different styles released in 2007 by Foscarini of Italy.

Here are two more hanging lights from the Geometrix series from Schonbek lighting. As you can see the Strass crystals really make this high tech lighting line shimmer with brilliant elegance. Schonbek makes a shape and color for practically every design scheme and application from very small pendants, to chandeliers and crystal trim for recessed lighting. Often modern interiors have a limited selection of hanging lamps that offer a sense of texture and vibrancy that can warm up and personalize a room, and this collection really fills this need.

Here is a stunning high end collection of innovative lamps, decorative lighting and furniture from designer Ayala Serfaty that has a very pleasant and organic theme. Aqua Creation founded in 1994 in Tel-Aviv, Israel works with individual consumers as well as architectural firms to bring a unique character to homes and businesses world wide. The "Morning Glory" floor lamp shown here is hand made from crushed silk in a variety of colors and provides much more than light. The entire Aqua Creations collection is fascinating, and no doubt a topic of conversation.
