Today I am talking chandeliers and presenting 6 of them from the Charles Loomis lighting collection. These models vary in construction between crystal and glass. My favorite is the chandelier shaped like a flower bouquet. Its overall shape is simple and a small enough format to work in many sizes of dining rooms. Its round shape is tasteful with the flower shapes bringing out a nice decorative touch. The others are a bit more expressive ranging from a plant to a near disco ball. "Cubi Zero" is a simple lighting source designed to offer subtle lighting on a table surface. I find that a cube table lamp is often popular due to its shape. Unlike most lamps, the shape of a cube remains some what abstract when compared to the typical base, shaft, and shade that make up most lamp models. If you have gone shopping with a relative for a lamp you know my pain! It seems that there is always one feature that makes a lamp not work. Perhaps, in those situations, a simple cube would suffice. I set out in this blog post to offer some cool ceiling lighting ideas for decorating a modern home. I mentioned in my last article on floor lamps that it is hard to find quality pictures and good product descriptions when it comes to lighting. Now the great thing about a ceiling is the wide variety of lighting options. There can be fixtures that are compact and close to the ceiling or amazing chandeliers. The secret to light decorating is finding the right balance for the room. Frankly, it is very easy to get an oversized fixture that when installed on the ceiling, creates an imbalance for the overall feel of a room. The best advice is to carefully shop for ceiling lighting. I also recommend cutting out a cardboard model of the actual size and placing it in the room. Ideas for floor lamps are hard to come by on the internet since lighting is less glamorous than other areas of home decorating. As a blogger, I scour sites every day often to find a very limited selection of floor lamps, but also usually without good pictures or product descriptions. These cool floor lamps show 9 models from the Vibia Design collection. Several of them come in multiple colors or have different shade options available. I included two outdoor lamps as well since those seem to be even harder to find. I find that shape is an important feature in floor lamps. As I look closely I can see the influence of architecture in the several of the examples. Hopefully, there are some good ideas in these pictures about what would work well in your home.
