Andrew Haarsager's "Polly" folding chair is currently in development with Jenny Wu who received inspiration from folding boxes to gain maximum rigidity. Using polypropylene requires far less energy and is much less expensive than the production of a standard aluminum folding chair not to mention they are also light weight. Additionally no material is wasted in its production, and the Polly folding chair folds to a flat rectangle less than an inch thick allowing them to be stored in a small closet or under a bed.
I just had to show one more Martin Sprouse design and here it is the "Switch" combination bench / table made of hearty planks of solid Walnut. The design is really fun to look at and takes on a very different shape from every angle, all of which are pleasing to the eye. A series of thick, interconnected wood slabs form combined bench style seating and table surface while cantilevered forms and an unconventional structure create a floating mass of parallel planes.
