Osian Batyka-Williams' Reclaimed Metal Tube Chairs

I am fond of works using reclaimed materials in their construction. It adds history and character to the design while at the same time limits waste material. Such is the case from sculptor, Osian Batyka-Williams. In a studio about 5 miles from the London bridge, Osian creates his "Tube chairs" from reclaimed metal. This piece is a combination of sculpture, furniture, and design rolled into one product. These chairs are made to order and available for ₤2,000. Product link: here.

Jesse "Regolo" : Modern TV Wall Units and Media Centers

Jesse of Italy will make a larger presence in the American furniture market with their exclusive retail stores that will feature some outstanding modern designs in the near future. I was able to see some of Jesse's new products at this year's High Point Furniture Show and wanted to share a sampling of their "Regolo" collection that include library bookcase systems, entertainment wall units, and flat screen TV stands. Jesse tastefully combines matte, glossy, and natural wood finishes with a variety of linear shapes to create drama. Keep your eyes open for the specialty stores that will be signified by their trademark "J" and some seriously attractive designs. See more of the Jesse modern Italian furniture collection here.

Sunken Sofas and Chairs by Ross Didier

From Ross Didier comes the Obelisk sofa and chairs featuring a design that is very cubistic and angular. My first impression was that the furniture pieces were "sunken" as I was taken in by the odd angle upon which they sit. This design is certainly very futuristic and will take a bit of getting use to for our eyes. I have not had a chance to sit in the Obelisk and would like to so I can examine the comfort level. Product: here.
