Have you heard the old cliché, "take a number and a seat, and I will be right with you". Well, I think that lobby furniture shaped like a calculator gives new meaning to that old saying. I imagine this concept being in the office of an accounting firm. The other disparaging thought was that of a tax office, but we won't talk about this. The numbers of the calculator form individual seats designed for a waiting area. Via.

You don't have to have a 50's home to have a cool retro modern front door. The optimistic colors and unique window designs make these two choices a good way to give your home a nice face lift with out breaking the bank. The Crestview collection gets it's inspiration from David Erwin's take on the 50's but adds updated solid wood core and high efficiency windows and still manages to keep the price range $800 - $1200 and deliveries in 6 to 8 weeks. The Snickarper collection from Sweden has a distinct look and even adds some flair to their collection of retro modern front doors. I guess the 50's was a stylish time over in Europe as well and Snickarper has a very diverse collection of residential front doors in a wide variety of finishes that really make a bold statement. I really like their contrasting window trims and linear details as well as the simple hardware. Snickarper also makes interior doors and garage doors as well to round out the complete look of your home. Here
There's not a lot of information on these two products, but I fell in love when I saw them and had to share them. I am a big fan of retro modern living room furniture and here you see two fine examples in a sofa and matching accent chair. The ribbed upholstery creates a throwback theme to days long gone. The catchy aspect is that these pieces are finished well on the ends with fitting angles and shapes creating a "retro look". The slightly indented sides remind me of old commercial seating that you would see at a diner, bus station, or train station. The angles, indention, and shape create this look for me. Perhaps, it is my memory of places such as that in my life. The sofa and accent chair are from the PMco "suite 50" series. Via.

Furniture Fashion received a recent submission by Kristoffer Kjær of a new bench. As I looked at the bench I investigated further to see what other pieces he has created. I am a fan of Danish furniture designs so I was excited to see examples of his work. I have included a brief biography that Kristoffer sent me so you can get an insight into this young designer.
