In some of my previous articles I have presented furniture styles of some of the great designers of the past like Eames, Nelson and Noguchi. Well I am happy to say there are some up and coming designers that have a vision of what it takes to create cutting edge styles that are far beyond ordinary. LYX which is the Swedish word for luxury, has expounded on the 60's and 70's clean lines and added a modern twist. Their hand
made pieces are made in small amounts which add to their cost and worth. Many of the pieces are based on straight lines but still manage to keep comfort as a focus.

I have always been a follower of modern design that exudes quality at a simple glance. Upon a closer inspection it becomes more evident when the standards of consistent high quality have been met. Cassina is one manufacturer that has a world class line of furniture designed by some of the industries top designers. Phillipe Starck, Piero Lissoni, and Mario Bellini are some of the famous names that have contributed to Cassinas trend setting styles. The master's collection first produced in the 1960 has the exclusive license to reproduce selected works from Swiss architect Le Corbusier, and Charles Rennie Mackintosh. Each piece from the master's collection has the I Meastri logo, designer's signature, and a production number for authenticity.

From designer Rodolfo Dordoni comes the Pilotta Chair, full-size and small armchairs, and ottomans. The chair is free of elementary geometrical shapes rather a combination of sturdy joints and constructional technology. Light and never spindly Dordoni creates solid quality with amazing comfort, solidity without excessive bulk.
