This picture is actually art, but it inspires in me memories of summer family vacations where we drove long distances in a car during the heat of the summer while on each others' last nerve. This exhibit sits in front of the Modern Contemporary Art museum in Chicago.
There are some designs that are simply timeless. One such item is the Cite lounge chair which was first produced in 1930 by Prouv'e. Combining the soul of an engineer with that of an architect" -Le Corbusier. This classic will endure for generations.
The Cité lounge chair is one of Prouvé's earlier furniture designs and it fits perfectly in the modern home where Prouvé himself used it. Jean Prouvé was a "constructeur" a builder and designer who created furniture that still looks crisply modern seventy years after they were designed. The Cité lounge has the trademark Prouvé rational-sculptural aesthetic courtesy of his formal engineering training. By sitting in this chair you are well on your way to discovering the sublime and sophisticated qualities that are unique to Prouvé designs.

This plum sectional offers a different contrast in the way the two pieces connect. With a curved transformation into the other piece of the sectional, it departs from the traditional right angled sectional pieces that are more common on the market today. This sectional is designed by Antonio Citterio for B&B Italia.
