Our American society has not always been the most fashion forward, but we are quickly catching up to all of the trends (both clothing and design) now that the internet provides us immediate access to the rest of the world. Consumers are more conscious than ever of good design, and want to bring it into their homes, no matter what their budget. Furniture stores have started taking notice of this trend and are now offering complete room packages that have been created by their "designers". There is no mention of the level of education their designers have, and thought the rooms are very well put together, they are not what I would consider the same level of design quality you would get from a licensed interior designer.

Beddinge is a line of sofa beds from Ikea that are designed to serve multi-purpose furniture functions. For many homes or apartments, sofa beds offer a great way to provide additional sleeping areas while using the piece as an everyday piece of furniture to sit on. There are a few features about this line that appeal to me. First, there are four choices of mattresses from which to choose from. This creates different possibilities on what is comfortable as that varies by person. Beddinge sofa beds use slip covers giving you the option to switch colors out. There are nine color choices. Nipa Doshi and Jonathan Levien have conspired with Moroso to create the "My Beautiful Backside" seating collection that received inspiration from a painting of Maharani sitting on the floor of her palace, surrounded and supported by multiples of pebble shaped cushions. This multi-faceted sofa series showcases the vision that Doshi Levien incorporate into their designs that include furniture, flatware, and other cool stuff for around the kitchen. I really like the visual excitement created by the use of so many interesting fabrics combined with the variety of shapes.
