One name that is getting a lot of attention in modern furniture lately is Viccarbe, and for good reason. The entire collection has a clean minimal look that makes great use of high quality materials and some very well known names in design. One of my favorite pieces from their collection is the Levitt by designers Ludovica and Roberto Palomba which includes a sofa and oversized chair. The seamless seating surface offers generous room thanks to an armless design. Probably the best view of the Levitt sofa is from behind which reveals a stylish wrap around back rest, far to cool to be put against a wall.

A sectional has a way of bringing the family closer together as opposed to separate pieces in a living room. The five piece Stratton sectional from Pottery Barn pictured here retails from - $2,499 - $2,549. The Stratton design is a bit different than the Pottery Barn classic. Here the overstuffed arms, and the entire sectional, rest inside a sleek hardwood frame providing them a look of organization and structure. Additionally, there is functional storage in the form of rattan drawers underneath the seating area. The drawers are presented tastefully to offer storage for toys, magazines, books and other items.

Judging from the look of the Manhattan sofa from BPA International it would fit quit well in a New York loft, but its length makes me think of "Long Island." I have always had a fault in needing symmetry but the one arm and extended pseudo table offer such a well balanced versatility it has made me abandon my thought process. Designer Carlo Pozzi gave the Manhattan generous seating and the option to integrate the seating system with hub tops and storage units along the back. This sofa series includes modular sectional pieces that allow your requirements to be fulfilled just as Carlo Pozzi fulfilled his own requirements of comfort and style. BPA International has a strict dedication to cutting edge design and quality that is more than meets the eye. Their product line specializes in sofas, sectionals, and chairs with a modern Italian look.

We have all heard the comparisons describing how good something can be, well here is one that can be see and felt in person. De Sede is the Rolls Royce of furniture and they back that up with the ultimate in design, materials and philosophy. "Style and comfort are the message behind the de Sede credo: The culture of excellence. There is no place for the mediocre or pedestrian". The latest from de Sede, the DS-371 sofa by designer Cuno Frommherz is elegant and functional with its flip style back rest that goes flat creating a horizontal shelf. Loose cushions allow versatility and improved seating comfort in the position of your choice while narrow arms maximize space. The DS-371 sofa has a close proximity to the floor which creates a substantial look and eliminates what often becomes trendy hardware that can date furniture. The 371 series is modular and has seating in a multitude of option from sofas in various sizes and depths to sectionals limited by you space or imagination. De Sede hand makes all their furniture in Switzerland with the finest material including leather hides specifically from Germany or Switzerland where the conditions are superior. For those opposed to leather, Microsede is also available as an upholstery option. The product is based on an extremely fine polyester fiber that is 300 times thinner than the finest natural wool fiber. These fibers are processed into flakes and then made into a felt. The de Sede collection also includes an incredible series of modern easy chairs and tables.
