Tangram refers to an ancient Chinese game composed of seven geometric figures obtained by the breakdown of a square. Lago of Italy has expounded on the concept and given this modern interpretation of the wall mounted bookshelf life with help from designer Daniele Lago. The Libreria Tangram can be combined to create just about any shape you desire as long as it's not round. Available in Red, White, Black and Blue
Inspiration for the Modulo wall shelf was created by designer, Marcello Ziliani. The first thing that catches my eye is the colorful inserts that separate the frosted glass. The pumpkin color pictured here creates a stunning visual on the wall. In the installation picture with three shelves, you can get a sense for the impact of color in decorating the wall. Modulo also comes in three other colors that are not as quite as bold: white, black, and teak. The free standing nature of a shelf can help add a bit of something to a wall while maintaining that minimalist feel of not have too much furniture in that area of the home. More information: here.

Xel is a shelving composition wall unit created for aesthetic décor and also functionality. Featuring a frost clear glass backdrop, the shelving is made of anodized aluminum fastened by aluminum joints. Joke Sytem is a wall unit created by designer, Matteo Ragni for Krios Furniture of Italy. This wall décor is comprised of glass shelving with wooden supports. The wooden supports can be molded into different shapes thereby creating a different look for the wood separators. Joke comes in five colors including white, natural wood, green, red, and blue.
